Many of us have their favorite coffee shop
where they drink a cup of coffee and exchange few words
and laughs with the barman before they move on to another
day. That sort of the ritual can sometimes can be interrupted
for various reasons to go and seek some other coffee shop
which suites us better.
We can also be in an unpleasant situation,
really because there is nothing worse than having a cup
of coffee in a place which is insensitive to the guests
needs, when we are served with a supposed espresso but it
doesn't look like it because the foam is brownish burnt
or even absent, the cup is cold and you can see the bottom...
All these are pretty good signs that the barman lacks in
attention and professionalism. Italian barman knows very
well that coffee consuming can reach and surpass the quarter
of the total income of the establishment.
So it is not pretentious to claim that
the ordinary cup of coffee is the engine that drives the
establishment so that not caring about the choice of raw
material, mixture or the equipment and especially the maintenance
of the machines we use always goes against the proprietor.
Complete satisfaction of the consumer rewards
the barman's effort as well the effort of producer of the
mixture, and the successful conversion of the coffee dose
into the cup of espresso is the key, if the barman doesn't
give it the necessary attention all effort of the coffee
producer is in vain: the responsibility por the good cup
of coffee lies in both of them.
Surely being a barman is not easy but as
in all praffesions satisfaction comes from the knowledge
that we made our customer happy with a few words, a smile
and by serving him with an excelent cup of coffee.
